BRIEF
Client wanted the book to be colorful, whimsical and fun. It should depict kids in toddler age (1-3 y.o) and show ethnic and gender diversity. They wanted me to provide a range of spreads that have a lot of negative space and some that are more dense in color. For each spreads, I was given simple art direction as to what they wanted me to illustrate. I was also provided some instructions how the kids will do the dances on each spreads (such as, “Show kids with forearms rotating around each other like “wheels on the bus motion” etc.) Art Direction by Tricia Jang
EARLY COVER STUDIES
Callisto’s books are primarily marketed and sold online. Because their covers are presented to consumers at thumbnail size, the cover needed to stand out and text be legible at a small scale.
